I hope you had a great 4 day weekend!
Today, Tuesday the 17th, we will have a small quiz in Science. We will start a "sky log" and will will continue the study of planets.
In Math you will have a writing prompt to explain how to find the area of a triangle.
Then the rest of this week we will work on finding the circumference and area of circles. On Friday you will have a quiz to see what you learned. Next week we will review order of operations, writing equations, and finding GCF and LCM. We will use that the following week to be sure we know how to add/subtract /multiply and divide fractions. Finally, we will review graphing and plotting points. This will be Monday and Tuesday March 9th and 10th. March 11th and 12th wil be Math DSTP with Friday as a make-up day.
ELA - Homework - Write a sentence using each correctly: their, they're, your, you're, its, it's, who's, whose. There will be a Chapter 3 Grammar Test this Friday.
Social Studies - We continue with Chapter 8 - tomorrow, Wed. 18th - Quiz on 8.2

IT'S FEBRUARY !!
Hey 8th grade - here's what's happening in February -
ELA - Everyone should have already presented their book reports - Most of you did a great job!
Also your Autobiographical Incident should have been handed in, but if you haven't
handed it yet it's better late then never, so get it in...
We will be doing Mid-year Benchmark Reading Tests this week, just do your best...
MATH - We will continue working on Area and Perimeter. Then we will start looking at square
roots, pythagorean theorem, and area of circles.
SOCIAL STUDIES - We have been studying the Constitution. You will have a TEST on
Thursday 5th so be sure to review your worksheet and notes. You need to know the
following: The 3 parts of the Constitution are 1. Preamble (which set the goals) 2.
Articles and Amendments 3. Principles
HEALTH - You will have a TEST on Thursday 5th on Puberty, Male and Female ....

Friday 13th - NO SCHOOL for students - but we have to work, teacher's in-service day
